Several years ago, as my wife and I worked through our college careers, we frequently explored areas throughout the east coast to figure out where we want to spend a part of our lives. When we stumbled upon Vernon NJ while visiting a friend, we immediately fell in love with the town.
A few years later, we moved to Vernon and have not regretted the quiet lifestyle, skiing and amenities available since. Unfortunately, living in this town came with a price, as the government bureaucracy of the past hindered the true progress that the town could make.
With the township constantly on the news for failed government policies, the residents said enough is enough. Over 3,000 signatures later, a vote and election, Vernon had a new form of government, a new group of individuals and the ability and drive to move forward. I am proud to say, as Vernon NJ residents, my wife and I both signed the petition to make this happen.
Recently, the residents who pushed the petition, along with the Vernon NJ council and mayor, and journalist Jessica Zummo were featured and interviewed on the Glenn Beck Show. Their story proves that grass-roots efforts with a defined plan can facilitate change for the better, and that good will always triumph. View the two segments below and please comment.
